Casey made the missing post out of the box the stand came in. Casey also made over 100 key chains out of red, white, and blue beads. He handed them out to people at no charge. Casey had a few yellow and pink teddy bears he used for decorations and at the end of the day he gave them away to small children. Casey was at his stand from 9:45 AM until 7:00 PM. I asked him several times if he wanted to go home. He said he wanted to stay and sell all his cans, and he did. Casey's only concern was if I was doing OK. I'm disabled and in a wheelchair. He said if I was OK he'd like to stay.”

Our stand: We painted our stand red because that is the official color for Epilepsy Foundation. We were tickled to help so we decorated the stand in white feathers and Grace's friends wore feather boas. People with Epilepsy have seizures hence, the "seize the moment". We put a real clock on the stand to give a visual sense to 'seize the moment'. We put "lemon" facts on the stand to tell people about Epilepsy. For example, one fact is '3 million people in U.S.A. have Epilepsy'. We had a lot of fun creating, selling, and helping.

Alec Schmidt, 11 Chillicothe OH Raised $170 for Lauren’s Love and Laughter “My cousin, Lauren was diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was ten months old she died before she turned nine during that time she was in and out of hospitals her whole life. It is very costly to the parents of a sick child besides the medical bills, there’s not extra money for meals for the parents who don't leave their child's side during the hospital stays so Lauren’s mother Trish Colby started a foundation "Lauren’s love and laughter" to help out with the extra expenses such as meals for parents who do not even have the money to eat at the hospital cafeteria or etc..I decorated my lemonade stand with pictures of Lauren and also added butterflies and flowers, because Lauren loved both of those things and also pink just happened to be her favorite color. I sincerely want to thank you for helping to give me the opportunity to make a difference in someone else life by enabling me to donate $170.00 in Lauren’s name to help others. She would be proud and tickled pink Lauren's mother also is fighting cancer, in fact she missed a lot of her chemotherapy treatments because Lauren would be in the hospital and Trish went to the children' hospital and would not leave her side, so now Trish is fighting a big battle of her own and we do not know how things will turn out yet. ”

Natalie Gould, 9 Cincinnati OH Raised $522.36 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society “My daughter, Natalie Gould, designed her lemonade stand which she called "Lemonade for Lucy." Lucy is a local preschooler who was diagnosed with leukemia two days before Thanksgiving last year. Natalie decorated the stand with as much pink as possible, since that's Lucy's favorite color. She and her friend made matching shirts with puffy paint that said Lucy's Lemonade 4 Leukemia. Lucy came to the stand for a little while and I captured this shot with Natalie, her friend Brooke, and the guest of honor, Lucy. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this wonderful community event. Even if my daughter doesn't win one of the scooters, she came away from that day with a gift all its own, learning to do and give for others in need. What a terrific concept! We can't thank you enough for letting us be a part of this day.
Mason Sawyer, 7 Canal Winchester OH Raised $266.16 for the Mid Ohio Food Bank “I'm so incredibly proud of my son, Mason. He's always been worried about 'hungry kids' so we helped him choose the Mid-Ohio Food Bank as his charity for Saturday. He worked so hard to decorate his stand with a food theme. He collected boxes and can labels and either glued or taped them to his stand - covering every inch! Everyone kept saying how colorful it was. He used the poster paint to make signs for the neighborhood to direct people to his stand. And since it was the food bank he was collecting for, he asked people to bring canned goods as well! We let him stay here at home since we get quite a bit of traffic through our neighborhood. He raised $266.16 and was beyond excited! To put it in better perspective for him and others - we learned that is equivalent to more than 300 meals!! Thank you very much for allowing him to be a part of this wonderful project”
Madison Reed, 11 Dublin OH Raised $176 for the Ohio State University Foundation Miracle for Madison Fund “THANK YOU for giving me this opportunity to sell lemonade AND raise money to help find a cure for my disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy or SMA. SMA is the #1 genetic killer of infants and toddlers. 3 of my little friends with SMA passed away in the past year. One of them was my best friend Lily who died just a month ago. So, I decided to raise the money and donate it in memory of all 3 . I printed out a picture of them with the words Madison's Angels. I also printed out a picture of me because the fund is named after me and I represent all kids with SMA. We used the color pink because of the pink lemonade and because one of the SMA awareness colors is a pinkish/purple color. We collected money in a donation jar with Hope for Cure on it. The roses are part of SMA awareness and is a symbol of the strength and courage SMA kids have fighting for a chance at life. The picture of the eyes are my friend Lily's eyes. Many kids with SMA type 1 cant talk and talk with their eyes. You can also look into our eyes and learn so much. Thank you again! You are doing an amazing thing helping so many important causes including me and so many angels.”
Paige Kingsley, 6 Columbus OH Raised $250 for Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy “Her youngest brother who turned 2 a few months ago has SMA Type 1. It is the worse type to have. SMA Type 1 is the leading genetic killer of children under 2. So, Brett has already beat the odds! Paige was thrilled to have the opportunity to help her brother and his friends GET STRONG by raising money for SMA research! Our family hopes one day a cure will be found. Thank you again for making this possible for her. It was a great learning experience. She looks forward to doing it again!”
